"assume a mobius strip scarf is cooler than a klein bottle hat.. then if you cut the scarf along a closed curve, and cut the klein bottle along a closed curve as well, the mobius scarf ought to do something more interesting than the klein bottle hat. but when you cut the mobius strip, you get a 2 sided thinggy back and that's not very exciting, where if you cut the klein bottle hat, you get a mobius strip... and... uh... how can the mobius scarf be cooler than the klein bottle hat if the klein bottle hat contains a mobius strip within it? it cant... so the klein bottle hat is cooler. though if you knitted either of those and then cut them, they'd probably unravel."
